So, weak as he was towards his husband, the same way John know Simon is for him, he just smiled, nodded, and snuggled closer to the leopard. The pup stirred, but didn't wake up, so Simon curled an arm and his tail around John and brought him even closer. Almost cocooning him and their pup. (13/17)

He drifted back to sleep quickly, he wasn't fully awake to begin with. The warmth surrounding him and the overwhelming joy he felt from everything was enough to lull him. John has this, their little family, and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. (14/17)

When they wake up again, it's to the sound of laughter and tiny hands poking at their faces. The little girl smiled wide, the gaps from where her baby teeth fell off a couple of days ago making John's chest feel even warmer. (15/17)

As he set the plates on the table, and looked at his husband and daughter, John could only smile. To think there was a time when he though this was impossible feels, well impossible. He would go through every pain and sorrow over and over again, if it meant having them. (17/17)
