This is very upsetting, especially since it's not practical to cut ties with Google, at least not now. Who do we contact at Google to express our displeasure? I would add Google Maps, changing the name from the Gulf of Mexico. Step one is to complain loudly. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

As a business, that's a tough one. And as a business, if I tried to do something really stupid, I'd appreciate my otherwise happy customers letting me know. I live in a bubble, but it seems there are steps to take.

I’m in a similar situation. I can cut off some Google functions and find alternatives, but not others. Same with Apple products. So I try to be loud, though my squeak is very, very small.

It's pretty odd that none of us knows how to lodge a complaint with #google short of shaming them on social media. I might suggest there's no real accountability.

Yeah, I’d like to complain loudly too. One thing I’ve done is switched to Duck Duck Go. It’s great, don’t know what took me so long!

Google is complying with Trump because they measured the pros and cons of acceding to his request and decided it’s in the company’s financial interest to do so. Apple Maps has made the change as well. I’m still looking for a way to complain or at the very least mock them over it.

I cannot quit Google entirely because of where I work, but I deleted its browser and map from my phone and am quickly discovering how hard it is to avoid Google. & I have lodged more complaints with more businesses (and elected officials) in the past two weeks than in the rest of all my years. 🙄
