You should be so grateful to anyone who can say, "well, actually, I think this popular thing is failing its source material/audience/etc in this way." Even if you disagree, a person who can thoroughly support a critique or interpretation of art and has a platform to do so is a miracle at this point!

Do you know how much Game of Thrones got away with, contradictory to its source material, blatantly racist, sexist, etc for years before the average dummy realized it was bad in its FINAL SEASON? One person at Rolling Stone would occasionally give it 5% of what it deserved, but nobody else!

We just watched AMC have "no, you can't say you don't like it yet" pieces coincidentally ready to go at different publications every week that The Vampire Lestat was disrespectful to two seasons of IWTV before it, Anne Rice, and its queer and Black audience!
