Seems to me that it's a matter of degree. Solving world hunger and saving democracy seem principled. Pandering to a selfish need for cheaper gas or beer, not so much. It's an issue, certainly, but why does that matter under a dictatorship?

Also, given the choice between Democratic Socialism and National Socialism, I can't respect the position that they are equally bad. I'd love to hear the argument that Sweden and Denmark are no better than Nazi Germany.

Who would make that argument? You're building so many strawmen I don't know where to start. I said was the Democrats campaign messaging of "Trump bad" has failed too many times in the past to be the angle to go for. If you care about saving the country, you care about winning the election.

I don't LIKE it, but if you build a campaign around "Look what crazy thing Ol' Donnie said this time", most undecided voters are going to say "Ok,what are you going to do for me though?" He won(legit or not) the last Election despite literally rambling about people eating cats and dogs

So again, the only thing I've said is the messaging from Democrats needs to be more than another round of "Trump Bad", at least not without also presenting solutions and paths forward.

It's both ignorant and insulting to claim that I, or anyone else insists that we bet the whole farm on one slogan, as Carville did. It seems that this is the only post you've ever seen and that it tells the whole story.

Who would make that argument? Anyone except the Vichy bureaucrats in DC. (Just an aside, 6 appeasing "Problem Solvers Caucus" members just voted for Trumps supplemental war bill.) The threat to democracy is no strawman, it is existential. The only candidates who lost to Trump were weak candidates.

Okay, I've gone farther down this rat hole than I intended and will just end with this. You keep spreading whatever breadcrumbs you think will lure dems to the polls in Nov. and I'll keep sounding the alarm to ensure there will BE an election in Nov. Clearly, if I fail, what you do doesn't matter.
