the worst offenders, imho, are the ones that say something like "don't do these 5 mistakes or everyone will know you're an amateur!" and then they list like totally normal things that pro screenwriters put in scripts every day.

so much that bad advice just falls apart when you take the time to read professional scripts.

Exactly! But they’re being told by these gurus not to believe the evidence of their own eyes because “that’s a shooting script” (lol) or “that’s a director so he can get away with it” or 1,000 other lame reasons why their “rules” are real
