I want to see every child in a library, given the joy and privilege of looking for, finding a book, sitting down and enjoying every word and picture in it. Then finding a few more, taking them to the librarian, and watching her hide joy in the fact that they found something to engage their interest.

Librarians live for that shit, man. I worked for the City of Dallas, which included Dallas Public Libraries. I have never met a more engaged, involved, and downright give-a-shit group of women and men. They live for what they do, and deserve 5 times more money than any cop does.
