Presidential candidate Ronald Reagan made a patsy of PATCO the previous year to get their endorsement. Sure, they were victims, but Reagan was an inveterate liar and a despicable Red Scare snitch. Reagan’s move against PATCO had a chilling effect on labor organizing for years.
