the worst offenders, imho, are the ones that say something like "don't do these 5 mistakes or everyone will know you're an amateur!" and then they list like totally normal things that pro screenwriters put in scripts every day.

At the very least they could PRETEND to try to show ways to do the thing better. But they never do. Like... "Never put camera directions in your script!" No. They're fine. But I WOULD argue that there's better ways to do them. I personally try to direct the camera by directing attention.

Clair opens the door and enters. CU: makeup runs down from her eyes. She takes a moment by the door to collect herself before she continues in. Insert: she sets her keys and two hotel keycards on the counter. She opens a cupboard in the small kitchenette CU: wine glasses on a shelf, one gone.

VS: Clair enters her hotel room, collecting herself against the door. Makeup runs from her eyes. She moves to a small kitchenette, a clatter from the counter as she passes. Her keys and two keycards. Different hotels. She opens a cupboard, but decides against a glass. Takes a half empty bottle.

Camera directions are fine. But the 2nd run saves precious page space while being a more fluid and engaging read. And it still has the cues telling the Dir and DP where the focus should be. Trust them to know! It's their job! (Obvs Im exaggerating for the sake of making the point. It adds up tho!)
