It was the right thing to do. Now that they are making coldhearted baseball decisions, players and fans can rightfully expect the front office to go for it at the deadline.

As a fan of the man, this is a bummer. As a fan of the team, this is the right move. Unfortunately.

That's so sad. I thought they would have him pitch in relief before they went for the nuclear option. I know he got a lot of shit from fans, but he was fantastic in the postseason last year and always seemed like a nice person who never phoned it in.
