If Odysseus had spent less time on forever wars in Troy and more time on issues affecting white working-class citizens of Ithaca, then maybe Penelope's suitors wouldn't have tried to kill him.

Hegseth just ordered to blow the boat of the water for suspicion of drug trafficking.

Who only want to know if the quarry is hiring.

So, I have heard historical theories that the Iliad, Odyssey, and other stories concerning the Trojan War were mythologized tales of a war between Troy and the Greek city-states that was a major catalyst for the Bronze Age collapse.

Troy would have been a critical trade hub for that part of the world, so its razing would have had dire consequences. And if we go by the stories, many Greek cities probably fell apart, with their armies depleted and their kings either dying in the war or returning to major political instability.

Counter-point. If Helen had been a decent trad-wife to Agamemnon, Odysseus wouldn’t have needed leave Penelope to bring up Telemachus as a woke snowflake Gen Z
