I am a shareholder and I sent in my “No” vote for the merger. Monopolies are antithetical to capitalism actually, as well and antithetical to socialist democracies and societal health. So I have done my part.

More consolidation when we’re long overdue for the dismantling of corporate combines. These anti competitive practices destroy industries, creativity, people families and unions. They are tilt towards fascism as these corporations buy government officials and highjack legislators and the courts.

Is it possible for a major outside player—like a wealthy tech giant or even Netflix—to step in and buy DC separately? If a billionaire or another studio made a massive offer just for the DC brand, they could potentially peel it away from the merger and give Batman & Superman a completely new home.

Then don't subscribe to them. Instead subscribe to PBS and support your local library. Better yet turn off media and go outside and build a tree fort. Especially if you have kids.

As a shareholder, I found it odd we were supposed to be able to vote a month ago on the Netflix merger and I wasn't allowed too. By phone or online. Said the meeting already happened and voting was closed. Got the new packet today to vote for the Paramount merger and no problem.

As a retired person from working all my life in the movie industry, here in New York City I agree 100% with you. But it is too late since the Warner shareholders approved the merger. In my opinion, the Netflix proposed purchase would have been so much better to everyone.

I can attest to Netflix price rising … again. Looking for an alternative so I can dump Netflix. I got Netflix so I could dump cable TV, which was getting too expensive. I’m with you on this, Mayor. When will corporation's greed feel the weight of the hammer only government can bring?

Corporate consolidation of this scale hurts wages for all Americans. NPR just did an article series on this, it's called Monoscopy. Basically the jobs are controlled by a few big corporations so they can control the wages.

It's bad for everyone. When did the US stop enforcing antitrust laws? Or am I just imagining we ever had antitrust laws to begin with? Was the break up of Bell just an anomaly?
