Absolutely! I'm friends with folks who ship stuff I'd personally rather not see, and I would NEVER ascribe morality to their preference for darker fictional topics. It's just a recolored "video games cause violence" argument - if someone misbehaves, that's on them, not on the fiction they enjoy.
