I have noticed this with parents approx. 15 yrs younger than myself, mid-30s. We definitely took our daughter out to dinner with us when she was a baby and even a toddler, but also liberally employed our neighbor's kids as babysitters. It's weird to not have a life other than with your kids in tow.
