The new normal: no ice, but #plastics?! Of all places, en route to our northernmost station, 31 plastic items floated past the ship in 1 hour, more than in any previous survey. At the same time, we made surprisingly fast progress– because there was hardly any ice! @awi.de @meereisportal.bsky.social
