Ok my dog friends, who is familiar with mega-esophagus? My dear, sweet Beefy, was recently dxed, and it’s been a struggle for about a month now. I’ve been experimenting with all the vet’s suggestions. Having a hard time finding a feeding strategy that sticks. Everything works… until it doesn’t. 😰

Poor Beefy, that's rotten. I've seen some reels where dogs are shown eating their dinners sitting upright strapped into a sort of baby chair. It's an accepted method of management, not just some weird whim on the owners part. That's as much as I've ever known though I'm afraid.

Bailey chairs. I got one & have had mixed success. He will go in, sit up to eat, then he gets uncomfortable & starts to fight. They need to stay upright for 15-20 min AFTER eating. He runs out of energy even tho I try to keep him distracted licking at peanut butter. I haven’t lost hope but…
