Obviously the cap is imposed by the Treasury. I dunno, it just doesn't seem to be a department that lives in the real world. It seems to be a department that lives in a world of IFS compliant spreadsheets.

I don’t think it is - had a conversation a while back with a colleague who worked in Healthcare admissions at a uni and they said the limiting factor was the number of training placements available.

Limited not because of finance but because you have a learner delivering clinical treatment who needs close observation and guidance. There’s only so many each ward can support.

So are the numbers no longer capped? They were until at least 2022

Honestly don’t know, but there’s a definite upper limit that the model can support.
