It was interesting to hear Barnes tell me that I had reported something I did not report, and then fail to answer my question. We still don't know where he plans to be in the first half of August, how long he won't be on the job, and who will serve as acting chief in his absence.

This claim from Barnes (that I reported he'd be out of town for "the entire month of August," which is false) is in line with SPD's demand for a correction yesterday, when they said I reported he was in Chicago over the weekend (I did not—I accurately reported he was in Dallas for a conference.)

Like, if they can't get what you reported correct, when it is in writing and out there for everyone to see, I don't understand how we are supposed to take any of these people seriously. Is this how they handle all business, because it looks like a clusterfuck from here.
