A "politically homeless Democrat" is just a person who spent years at parties proudly saying "of *course* we wealthy people should pay higher taxes" and then when Mamdani got elected they were like "I didn't mean *that* high"

I feel like "politically homeless" is a flawed descriptor based on the idea that you should agree with almost everything that the party you vote for is doing, which is silly. You have a set of things you want. One party does more of those. You vote for that. That's your home.
