You're still in the southern heat dome, though, aren't you? Completely agree no point planting seedlings that'll wither and die but we've had 2 days of rain with another forecast and temperatures maxing at 20. Also my broad beans are over and that's a space in the raised bed begging for new toys!
Ooh rain… I’m at the stage of empty water butts and emptying pots of dead plants. Anything in the ground is just about hanging on, although two buddleia bushes look very defeated.
That really hurts. Once the irrepressible buddleia struggles you know things are tough. My water butt (honestly, why am I so juvenile but *snigger*) was nearly dry but is now full again so I feel cautiously optimistic I can coax plants through August
