The good reason to do it would be if crypto were still, as it once was, either entirely disconnected, or negatively correlated with stocks, but it’s just not any more. If you want a hedge against inflation, buy gold.

Instead, I think it’s largely being folded in for bad reasons. One is that some firms are offering it, so everyone feels like they have to, and the fees can be larger so firms have an incentive to push it. Just a little in your portfolio, as a treat.
