Saying that Amendment 5 would "eliminate the income tax" isn't quite accurate. It's more accurate to say that the income tax would have been replaced with sales taxes. Lots of sales taxes. On everything. I'm glad to see it lose.
The DownballotTwo more GOP amendments go down to crushing defeats, both in MO. #4 would have made future ballot initiatives impossible to pass by requiring winning a majority statewide *and* in each congressional district. #5 would have eliminated the state income tax.
