My mother thought I was on HRT and said it so nonchalantly while scolding me about something else that left me dumbfounded. Good to know that if I do medically transition in any way she will complain just the usual amount lol

I can't explain how impactful is to someone who had a very restricted and controlled childhood having your parent just... assume you can and will do shit without telling them and not be an issue. What, you see me as an independent being who can make their own choices?? Incredible.

That doesn't mean she "approves" it, btw. I don't need that. The thing is that I can and will do shit without her approval, and she accepts that I will do it and moves on. That was unbelievable a few years ago.
