🇺🇦✈️ General Kaine, commander of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, confirmed that a Ukrainian Air Force F-16 fighter jet shot down a Russian Su-35 in an aerial battle. That was on July 8.

The old F-16, along with a well trained Ukrainian pilot just did an amazing thing. Huge congratulations to the, as yet unnamed pilot. A job well done! You just proved the old outdated F-16 is still a good air frame. POWER TO UKRAINE!

The F-16 was originally designed to be an air to air combat platform. Air superiority was one of the roles it was intended for.

Yes, but I dont think Ukraine has the long range air to air missiles for it, that will make it a lot more effective.
