Jacob Misiorowski is maybe the biggest epitome of "Throw the fastball until they prove they can hit the fastball" from a starter we've seen. The Angels had shown zero ability to catch up to it. Going 0-2 slider and then consecutive cutters two batters later is a continuation of a baffling trend.

Functionally there is quite little need for anything but the fastball and curve at present, frankly. A wrinkle here and there to present another option and threat. Just a fundamental misunderstanding of who you’re calling pitches for.

It didn’t end up mattering, but how are they letting Hall pitch to Trout this last half inning? His body language was terrible all inning. Do we have a pitching coach? Is he watching the same performance I am?

Is it the long con they are playing? Get the cutter on tape, all the numbers show it’s the only pitch they can hit, then when the playoffs roll around batters are lulled in to a false sense of hope that they are going to see it? Meanwhile Miz just shoves fastball after fastball down their throats?
