Not sure what you mean? As I understand it, Putin and his mobster buddies in the security services (FSB, GRU and SVR) are very much in power. More so than the duma and the oligarchs. Am I poorly informed?

Clearly you are, maybe just follow who is getting jailed and their relationship to Putin and other power structures in Russia. So getting rid of Putin will not end the war, unless the next chosen figurehead also somehow dies/disappears. Then there might be an internal power struggle.

I do not disagree. I share your belief that removing Putin will not necessarily end the war. Or suddenly lead to democracy. The thugs in charge will select a new leader internally. With or without a power struggle.

It is the Russian navy ensign. It has a blue cross on white background like the Finnish flag but the cross is diagonal whereas the Finnish flag has an upright cross.

Poland will never go for this for a very simple reason: if any border in Europe can be questioned, ten sooner than later the western Polish border (with Germany) will be questioned, too. Second, the Polish minority in Ukraine is insignificant and is not a political issue in Poland any more.

It would fir putin's "historically returned lands" bullshit. They may claim that "Crimea was always russian," but Crimea's written history goes back thousands of years and in that time, it was russian only about 6% of that time.
