This is correct: Farage was recruited by the press to 1) front up their endless outrage campaigns over nothing, and 2) troll the Tories from the right. Under no circumstances was he employed to 3) become the editors’ boss and control things like press regulation. So they’re revoking his legitimacy.

In the same way they employed Boris Johnson to front their bullshit campaigns, and then finally to drag them out of the hole they had dug Britain into, but they didn’t employ him to embarrass everyone by publicly filling his boots while telling the papers to fuck off. So they revoked his legitimacy.
