This. The DSA is good at low-turnout primaries in districts bluer than an oxygen-deprived Smurf. But it takes a Stevens or Underwood to win not only on purple states or flipping red states, but *statewide* (Senate) where you can't just cater to pasty self-desribed "Marxist Leninist communists."
