I'm in both camps. An artist needs to accept that their work will be interpreted in different ways, many they never expected. With great art, that's almost inevitable. On the other hand, if I'd written "Born in the USA" or "Rock the Casbah" and they were used as war anthems, I'd be pretty pissed.
