imo, pinball shares many similarities w/ speedrunning. so often in speedrunning we're challenging the boundaries of a game. pinball is a battle w/ physics, and physically moving the boundaries of the playfield doesn't feel that far removed from going out of bounds to avoid a boss trigger or smth
