How many times have I had to see casual fatphobia, racism, aporophobia, colonial revisionism in seemingly 'respectful' girlboss romances because the author threw in a joke/anecdote they thought was fine because they're one of the good ones.

While I certainly wish these authors would do better, the bigger takeaway here is that authors are blind to their own harmful biases and preemptively categorizing fiction as ethical for sexually acceptable behavior is in itself a fascist. Let the reader decide that.
