Fascinating to see a governor of Barbados report to the Lords of Trade and Plantations in 1676 a history of England's claim to the island by referring to Samuel Purchas's Pilgrims, rather than any official documentation or papers. (@emiliekmmurphy.bsky.social - might find this interesting!)
