One of my favorite noir films. “The Big Heat,” directed by Fritz Lang, is a subversive movie in which the real villains and heroes are the women. Glenn Ford stars as the ostensible hero, and Lee Marvin is a vicious thug, chief henchman of a mob operation, but Gloria Grahame steals the show.
