Leave it to lawyers and judges to make a total mockery of what they supposedly serve: the law.

Who pays his lawyer bills? Sure isn’t him.

Ответ для Lisa ⚖️🌎

Yeah, he pays most of them, unless he can grift donations from the public or the government. The advantage of being a billionaire, even if your net worth is negative billions instead of positive, is that you can afford more lawyers than small opponents can even when they're totally in the right.

Interesting they checked “no” to answer the question: Has this relief been previously sought in this court? I assume it’s because Judge Kaplan’s legal analysis came after they filed on the 8th and this new filing discussed what they think he got wrong. But still…

Agreed. 18 USC 10001

Trump will probably sue the insurer who provided the appeal bond

#FRCP11 No means No. Denied means Denied. Wishful thinking does not create a legal issue.

They may file another appeal, but by US Postal service and ask for it to be expedited.

Necessitated by events....LOL. 🤣 The Supreme Court is not going to bail him out...

Some day we may find out whose money he's using to pay his lawyers for this case.* (* – assuming their invoices are being paid)

This reeks of the kind of unhinged machinations you see from pro se appellants. The pending appeal's likelihood of success on the merits, which forms one of the twin pillars one must show to obtain a stay? Zero.

When do the attorneys and defendant start get sanctioned for failure to comply?

He’s trying to play this out until he’s dead.

Give her the damn money.

LOL... "respectfully" 🤣

The tick tock of this case represents how fucked our legal system is

So...is everyone certain that at 4:49:30 EDT today, the clerk of the District Court did not hit *send* on the funds transfer to E. Jean Carroll? Would that moot this horseshit motion?

How can this keep happening? The Supreme Court already ruled. Why weren’t the funds released on that day??

Ответ для myskhin

Never asked for a reimbursement check?

Yea. No. Pay up rapist

What a whiny little bitch. He’s going to fight this until he’s dead

“President Trump respectfully moves…” 🙄

Is any of this also hoping that she dies and her estate has to pursue, drawing it out longer?

Does this meet the definition of beating a dead horse - I think so…..

J

Trump will go to any extreme - including lying his ass off - to avoid transferring the funds a jury awarded Ms. Carroll years ago (plus the accrued interest).

It's insane he gets all this court access, while the people taken by ice are lucky if they get in front of a judge at all

Ответ для Rita

This is just throwing away the filing fee. He’s not getting another bite at the apple it’s all so grandpa doesn’t start yelling again

Ответ для Doc Benway

But your other point is obviously well taken

Ответ для Doc Benway

Yea, it's just infuriating how the justice system works one way for some, and not at all for others

Again — and as with the emergency request for an immediate administrative stay, which was denied: www.lawdork.com/p/despite-tr... — this filing changes nothing about the district court order. The order remains in effect and Carroll is to get her money.

Despite Trump "stalling this case for years," it appears that E. Jean Carroll is about to get paidMore than three years after a jury's verdict, Trump is running out of options to avoid paying the woman who, a jury found in 2023, he had sexually abused and defamed.www.lawdork.com

I’m a Brit, help me out here… Why didn’t E Jean get the money immediately the judge ordered disbursement….I mean the same day?

Ответ для Pam Nash

Usually the administrative stuff takes a short but non-zero amount of time. (If you're asking why he didn't have to pay right after the initial judgement, rather than about this week's order, he had to put up a bond guaranteeing payment to stop her collecting while he kept doing bogus appeals.)

Ответ для Bill Stewart

Thanks 😊 I knew about the bond, it was the release delay I couldn’t get.

Ответ для Chris Geidner

All in all, this means next to nothing. But, it is a filing on behalf of Trump after 5p on a Friday, so I did want to note it as soon as I saw it. </fin>

Ответ для Chris Geidner

Its harrassment

Ответ для Chris Geidner

crybaby rapist president, got it.

Ответ для Chris Geidner

Thank you, Chris 🙏🏽

Ответ для Chris Geidner

Is this just Trump lawyers in search of more billable hours? The probability of success would seem to be damn close to zero.

Ответ для Brian Wilcox

None of his lawyers should be allowed to practice law anymore and be taken to GITMO.

Ответ для Brian Wilcox

No. This is Trump, refusing to pay, and making it clear to anybody who sues him that you won't get paid ever, even if you win at his own Supreme Court, and that he has more money for lawyers than you do, so you'll run out of money before he stops appealing.

Ответ для Chris Geidner

Why hasn't the court clerk already released the money?

WTAF? I assume this is a case of an attorney doing what his client demands regardless of the law and court procedure?

Likely

Ответ для Chris Geidner

Making such a stink about losing deserves extra jubilation for the payout.

Ответ для Chris Geidner

Thank you for your attention to this matter! (No, really, I appreciate your work here. Thank you.)

Ответ для Chris Geidner

Does “necessitated by events” in any stretch of the imagination mean “in the event of his death” I am not a lawyer, only an optimist

Ответ для Sheo

If I'm reading this correctly, it means "If the court actually DOES pay Carroll from the money that he had to place in escrow to appeal the first two judgements against him, which would be just a hawrrible miscarriage of justice, I'm asking the Appeals Court to order them to claw it back from her."

Ответ для Bill Stewart

What an absolute baby

Ответ для Chris Geidner

Something something if he put half as much effort into solving the problems of the nation as he has put into avoiding adverse legal rulings we'd be a superpower again.

Ответ для Chris Geidner

I hope this orange fucker loses his assets.

Ответ для Chris Geidner

What does Kalshi have to say about this?

Ответ для Chris Geidner

One thing about Trump that never changes is he sure hates paying his debts.

Ответ для Chris Geidner

If only this judgment were subject to Illinois' 9% post-judgment interest rate...

Ответ для Kim Wiederer Jansen

It is subject to interest, but I don’t know the fed rate. Her $5 million is above $5.7 million total now.

Ответ для Chris Geidner

A spurious appeal, those feckless cowards should be sanctioned.

Ответ для Chris Geidner

Terrible lawyering.

Ответ для Chris Geidner

At some point you have to disbar and, if necessitated by the events, arrest the lawyer.

Ответ для Chris Geidner

Trump is abhorrent. Good grief the petty ass freak.

Ответ для Chris Geidner

Just wait Chris. With this failing he's going to sue/indict her for something stupid Sic IRS on her Dream up other harassment
