On June 9th, 1980, my Dad brought home an Apple ][+ for the family. It was the start of summer. I lived on that thing, playing games, typing them in from magazines, and starting to try to change those games, soon making my own. Changed my life. Thanks Dad! #apple2 #games #gamedev

I was doing the same thing 10 years later when we got our first family computer. Pretty amazing that regardless of age or era we were all trying to do the same thing, lol. I’m not sure if that type of thing happens anymore but I hope somewhere it is. Happy computer anniversary, Tom!

And the video games industry with it.

In my case, my father bought his computer in the early 80s; but I used it in the early 90s.

The computer that changed my life was the IBM PC, the IBM 5150. It belonged to my father, and I still remember the fluorescent green color of that monitor's screen. That computer sparked not only my curiosity about computing, but also about everything that would come after.

Well, at least her dad gave her a computer. My dad gave me a laptop, but he used my first paycheck. 😅
