When my brother asked what Springsteen album to start with, those were the three I suggested (Advised him not to START with Born cause I know his taste in music)

I 90% agree but always struggle about Nebraska. You’d lose born to run which seems wrong. I’m still undecided. But I know just the 4 album run I’d pick.

I'm sure that my Dad's opinions have influenced mine a lot due to how big they were in my childhood but it's got to be the first three for me, Asbury Park to Born to Run.

This is the only correct choice

The River - Nebraska - Born in the USA is arguably his darkest (Nebraska is the nadir for any optimism in his catalogue), richest and most full arc. Springsteen is rightly remembered mostly for his 70’s work, but he was on a really interesting journey in the early 80’s.

The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle, Born to Run, and Darkness on the Edge of Town are my three favourite albums of all time - so that makes for an easy answer for me.

I can put the slider anywhere between Born to Run and Born in the USA depending on my mood

Honestly it's really hard to pick out specific albums by Springsteen... he's had one of the strongest runs of really great albums I can think of.

Sometimes the obvious/basic answer is still the correct one.

It's the basic answer but it's also absolutely the correct one
