Why ben thei so numerous
The songes about rainbowes
And what ys on the othir syde?
"Rainbowes are visiounes
Yet onlye illusiounes,
And rainbowes have no thynge to hyde."
These tales we have heard
And sum choose to believe thys -
Yet Ich knowe thei are wrong,
Wayte and see:
One daye we will fynde it,
The rainbowe connectioun,
The loveres, the dreameres, and me.
Who seyde that everich wisshe
Wolde be hearde and answerid
When wisshed on the morninge sterre?
Somebodye did wryte that,
Somebodye founde trouthe ther,
Biholde what it hath don so far.
What beth so merveilous
That sterres reveal to us?
And what do we thynke we mighte see?
One daye we will fynde it,
The rainbowe connectioun,
The loveres, the dreameres, and me.
Hastow ben half asleepe,
And hastow hearde voyces?
Ich have hearde them callinge my name.
Ys thys the sweete sounde
That calleth young sailors?
The voyce koude be oon and the same.
So oft have Ich hearde thys Ich kan not ignore it -
It ys sum thinge Ich am meant to be.
One daye we will fynde it,
The rainbowe connectioun,
The loveres,
the dreameres,
and me.
