instead of bashing what if we, hear me out, gave people resources, patience, and book recs that could help open their mind up to more that could improve their reading experience and media literacy!!

do I think media literacy is in the trash? yes, but once again, that is a failure of our education system !!! not the person themselves. If they were given the tools & the environment I'm sure they would learn and read books with a more critical eye

do I like only smut books or booktok romantacy books? not really. but that's my opinion!!!! not something that should be forced or critiquing people for

growing up in Alabama I watched the system fail so many kids who never even learned how to sound out words. of course they hated reading, esp when teachers made them read aloud. they weren't TAUGHT how to read or enjoy reading. so if those ppl have learned thru badly written smut/romantacy. it's ok

listen....ppl who complain about "new readers" being horrible need to stfu. A lot of these "new readers" who only wanna read smut or dialogue weren't taught to read properly. bashing them makes u sound very elitist
