The number of pro-AI people on here who also happen to be blocked by me already because they're transphobes is... I wish I could say it's surprising.

Book Blogger Hop: Do You Read Many Books At Once? Joining in a new Friday blogging prompt, and oof, this one exposes me! Yes, MANY books at once... breathesbooks.com/2026/07/17/book-… #booksky 💙📚
Review - Strange Animals, by Jarod K. Anderson: this started off feeling kinda horror-ish, and then I got totally grabbed once the main character eases into thinking about it all as a subject of study. Rating: 4/5 ("really liked it"). Full review: breathesbooks.com/2026/07/16/revie… #booksky 💙📚
Review - Love and Desire in the Promised Land, by Salomé Parent-Rachdi & Deloupy: a fascinating project looking into the opinions of Israelis and Palestinians about love and sex. Very... humanising. Rating: 3/5 ("liked it"). Full review: breathesbooks.com/2026/07/15/revie… #booksky 💙📚
WWW Wednesday: The usual update, featuring lots of books on my plate and some musing about the Welsh-English bilingual poetry collection I plan to read next. breathesbooks.com/2026/07/15/www-w… #booksky 💙📚

For fuck's sake, I was only a little late to bed, and now I am punished. Migraine prodrome: the sequel.
NickyI am super mad that almost my entire day was stolen by migraine and migraine postdrome, and now I feel pretty okay it's bedtime, and if I refuse to go to bed and choose to stay up late, I will have another migraine.
I would be incredibly good at it. Large portions of our jobs are the same, except I'm her boss and do extra. I started in her job. I'm not sure the thought experiment is working out as intended. 🤣
Bethany AlbertsonThought experiment- if you were suddenly appointed to do your sibling’s job, how badly would you suck at it?
Fantasy with Friends: Brandon Sanderson. This week's prompt is very specific! I am not a huge fan of Sanderon's work though I've read some, but I did have some thoughts on the prompt. breathesbooks.com/2026/07/13/fanta… #booksky 💙📚
20 Books of Summer: Progress Update #1! I specified 20 books and so far I've finished 9 of them, so great progress. Includes a bonus bunny pic! breathesbooks.com/2026/07/12/20-bo… #20BOS26 #booksky 💙📚
Review - The Dead Beat, by Marilyn Johnson: about the pleasures of reading obituaries, which I was quite prepared to enjoy. It didn't go in the direction I hoped, focusing more on obituarists than obituaries. Rating: 2/5 ("it was okay"). Full review: breathesbooks.com/2026/07/12/revie… #booksky 💙📚
It's too hot so I'm thinking about this again and contemplating whether I should write something nice and #huaqing-heavy (I owe a spite fic from the last time I saw someone complaining about Huaqing) to actually properly execute my vision in a way I am much more likely to succeed at...
NickyI had a vision, but not the skill... #Xianlequartet cuddle piles, summer and winter editions. If you can take this and make it prettier, godspeed, send me a link, I wanna see. If you doooo... I ship Huaqing so don't skimp on their cuddles please! 😂 #TGCF
Stacking the Shelves & The Sunday Post: The usual weekly roundup of new-to-me books, the reviews and discussions I've been posting this week, and a ramble about my current reads and musing about a post that rather irked me... breathesbooks.com/2026/07/11/stack… #booksky 💙📚
Review - Sweet Poison, by Mary Fitt: I'm starting to see trends I dislike in Fitt's books, but I'm still enjoying them so far - atmospheric, fun mysteries. Rating: 3/5 ("liked it"). Full review: breathesbooks.com/2026/07/11/revie… #booksky 💙📚
Let's Talk Bookish: Discussion Posts. Yep, we're getting a bit meta up in here: this prompt is more about how people approach discussion linkups and such when blogging, rather than being about books directly! breathesbooks.com/2026/07/10/lets-…
