Sorry, but I’m not trying to argue, and I agree with what you say above in that you never said that “higher functioning” people should receive no support. I do feel however that this is the implication of trying to divide up the spectrum, but I fully accept you didn’t say that.

Sorry, badly written, autistic people who are non verbal and cannot participate in society should get the funding and support they need, but just because others are verbal and participate in society , it doesn’t mean they don’t need support, or should get less than they do now.

When you’ve become used to being told you’re “high functioning” and don’t need support, it can be quite hurtful and frustrating!

Thank you, I am gradually making progress at sorting my life out, it helps to understand who you are I think, so you can have more realistic expectations.

Having being diagnosed 3 weeks ago with ADHD, and 9 years ago with ASD, aged nearly 50, I am so sick of hearing the over diagnosed argument when I know that because I did reasonably well academically at school in the 80s nobody noticed. It wasn’t until the burnout in adulthood that I was recognised!

Trickle down = establishment and wealthy pissing on everyone else!

So what does that mean exactly? As somebody who has experienced anxiety since early childhood and is now nearly 50, has worked until 5 months ago and is making all efforts to get back to it after having severe mental ill health, I would be interested to hear a more detailed explanation?

What are you suggesting out of interest?

I want to see non-disabled people shouting about the disability benefit cuts. If you spoke out about trans rights, abortion rights, or migrant rights in recent weeks? Good on you! If you aren’t doing the same for disabled people, ask yourself why.

You shouldn’t have to explain this but ppl are apathetic until they fall under similar circumstance.

That’s fair comment, but I my initial reply was based on my thoughts and beliefs as opposed to its use for society.

It implies exactly that, most of the money on this planet and in this country are with the 1%. Retired people either once needed to work or didn’t, hence falling into one or other category. Students likely will likely fall into one or other after finishing studies. Mostly based on luck of birth!
