Based on the locations of most other shells in the collection, I’m leaning X. cerea on range - clearly she’d spent more time in the western Pacific than the eastern.

I was wondering if this was X. cerea or X. robusta - most of the shells are concave bivalve or bivalve pieces, but it did get a few rocks and some kind of snail bit. Do you or @spissatella.bsky.social want to weigh in?

Another from the estate sale - I think this is a rough carrier shell, Xerophora cerea.

This will probably fill my big jingle jar, so it’s something of an open question what I’ll do with them after that. I’ve been debating embedding a bunch in resin like a stained glass kind of situation.

I’d also never gotten around to sorting and cleaning my haul from our trip over the 4th. Not very big - the tides were against me, with lows +0.4-1’ - but respectable, and a nice collection of dark purple bits down there on the right.

Usually I’ve gone with bus-ted, but bustitution feels more in keeping with a T with less repair backlog.

So I have this LED map of the T, which shows current train locations by stop. I glanced across and noticed there were no lights on the red line outwards from Park St. “Huh,” I thought, “I hope my map’s not broken!” Nah, it’s the T - the red line is currently buses.
