Cats have taken over my life and I've never been happier. Lover of movies, horror, sci-fi, star trek and never grew out of 80's music. Midwest born and Pacific Northwest raised.

My poor finger. It was sliced from the first knuckle to the finger tip pretty deeply. I took off the dressing last night and cleaned it/rewrapped it and was able to shower and gently clean it this morning. It's pretty brutal looking but doing ok.

I actually turned on the little heater under my desk today because I wasn't smart enough to wear a cardigan to work today, even after realizing I had to pull my coat out of the closet for my commute this morning.

I was married before I had my first cell phone with a text messaging plan and I didn't get married until I was 25.

I appreciate that. I am just grateful that I am a decent advocate for myself because I know if it was other members of my family they would have given up. I just hate the state of medical care here.

I never should've had to go through this, but at least I now know that I'm not going through this alone and my employer is taking it seriously. And I now have an advocate to help me with further issues who can deal with people who can actually get things done instead of just frontline people. 9/end

At the same time, I received a VM from the ombudsman at Ventegra saying that the denial of the PA was a mistake and it should have been approved as continuing care even though it is no longer a covered medication. So I immediately ordered it and hopefully be Thursday I will be medicated again...8/

All of the complaints and problems with Ventegra since this switch and it has become his full time job. After a couple of days of back and forth between him and Ventegra he called me at 3:00 yesterday afternoon to tell me my PA was approved and my medication was ready to be ordered for delivery. 7/

I was in court at the time, so I called him the next morning. Finally someone was listening to me and incredibly sympathetic to what was happening. He told me he was escalating this and they would get it taken care of. He also said that my employer has had set up a whole section to deal with...6/

Benefits dept crying (which I never do) and left a message expecting no help. I have sent multiple emails since the switch and just get canned responses so I had no hope it would matter. But surprisingly I got a call back that afternoon. I wasn't able to take the call because ... 5/

The reason given was that they no longer cover that medication on their formulary! I received no notice this was changing and given no alternatives! They are required to provide 60 days notice. On Weds I called the specialty pharmacy and they confirmed the denial. So I called my employer's... 4/

A cheap medication (approx $8,000/mo), so there is no way they would have filled it without approval for 2 mos. After going through the PA process again and multiple back and forths with my Dr and the specialty pharmacy her office works with I got a letter in Tuesday say it was denied... 3/

Approving it back in February (which they made me do after it had already been approved for at least a year back in Sept by the company we used before the switch). They claimed they had no record of the approval even they had filled it for 2 mos after they claim it expired. This is not... 2/
