I am sure a fairly large percentage of Americans believe and practice this. This idea in no way constitutes a revolution. Unless of course, it becomes government enforced. The possibly of which becomes implied by it being published in the NYT.

The best, likely, outcome of incrementalism is it gives people hope that there can be a better world, but also shows them, that it isn't going to happen as long as the capitalist are in control. That is not a bad thing.

Incrementalism is definitely bullshit. Any incremental movement to the left, no matter how slight, is going to be treated as communism and right-wing networks will devote wall-to-wall coverage to attacking it. Go big or go home.
