“Hope and resilience are the enemy of fear.” - Sophie and Colin Hortman https://linktr.ee/katiejonesmn

While ppl are still being injured and killed from car crashes in our city, while the cost of car ownership is over $12k/year, & while not all are physically able to drive, Minneapolitans deserve options for how they get around.

(And no, my costume is not Toad from Super Mario…I’m Janette Sadie Kahn, former NYC DOT commissioner who revolutionized safe street and transportation option expansion. The attempt to copy her red helmet may have gone awry)

After a period of many challenging years and with a safer street and more transportation options Uptown is poised for an upswing. I for one am so excited to be part of a caring and engaged community that's ready to seize it!

🙏This is one of the highest compliments I feel is possible to receive.

Fair and helpful example. I should amend my previous statement to match the far right column on the graph I was referencing, which included electric resistance as backup for exactly those cases you mention.

Data shows that rural Minnesota households in utility territories across the state would see lower costs from switching to electric air source heat pumps, which are 2-4x more efficient than propane furnaces. www.mnashp.org/cost-heat-co...

We want American jobs but blanket mandates like this have unintended consequences for the US consumers. Better policy: financial incentives for companies w/ US workers. Result: US jobs are kept, companies must innovate to receive the $, & pressure from outside competition creates better products.

Our twin cities are making progress to fill the gap but it’s not enough. We invite cousins in the suburbs & greater MN to make it easier to build more homes. I look forward to the help of these 2 fantastic mission-driven nonprofits to help us make the changes we need at the state level. #YestoHomes

We are short over 100k homes in MN. A home is the foundation for a good life & healthy communities. Who feels safe, healthy, ready to learn, or able to get a job without a home? Reducing zoning barriers to new homes is a zero cost investment in public safety, healthcare, education, & workforce. 2/
