...I say as I pause a four hour video about Two Worlds - a game series I will literally never play - to start the cat hair mustache video.

Over the decades I've felt an uptick of **that** directly correlated with the rising cost of pet meds.

I've tried and failed to capture my feelings clearly in a way that didn't sound like unhinged sephirothposting. I did that and it's outta my system now, so now I'm like... these fuckers just gotta go.

Sounds hopeful! That's how it was for me with adderall. The point cloud of random concepts was still there, but the connection spikes became more controlled instead of, like, influenced but mostly random.

Sure, capital, ban the stuff that makes me incredibly profitable to you.

Again, stressing, subjective. But it's why I've yet to feel any impetus to rewatch a single episode of any of it. Would a model more akin to syndication, with the artistic reaches and struggles that sometimes necessitates, solve that? I don't know. But maybe it's time.

Short seasons means less time to establish characters, explore character interactions, or just let the story breathe. It means more pressure to be 'filmic'. And, just, less time to dick around and try weird, small, interesting things that don't have to be capital-e Events.

NOW As much as I've liked aspects of streaming Trek, or individual episodes, or individual characters, etc., the vibe of it so far -- to me -- has not felt like the kind of driven invention and intention we got from, say, DS9. It's felt more like the perfunctory output of homework assignments.

Still, a little experimental... in a commercial way, not an avant garde way. But that's fine! That often let the storytelling say things while flying under the radar. A normal Trek thing to do. Gave us some surprisingly kickass bottle episodes, too.
