It may be that somebody else has already noted this in all the commentary, but one of the underlying realities this makes me think of is the dynamic that exists between police departments and mayors of liberal cities. In reality the police departments have tons of power over most mayors.

One thing about Tim Walz is that if he cares about something, he will push for it. He doesn't always care about the things I wish he did, but there are things. If we get Klobuchar, does she even care about anything? I have no idea. Somebody in office will need to push a lot more if she doesn't.

I think it's one thing to say a person voted for the Laken Riley Act because they represent a swing district (it says a lot about their district) but it's another thing to say the person didn't know the results would be what they were (it says they're lying, have their head in the sand, or both).
