Probably a witch A² native Still not dead, but it's a process

Abdul is not DSA, nor is he endorsed by DSA; some of his priorities (like single-payer) happen to align. He endorsed the Uncommitted movement because of DNC leadership refusing to acknowledge the reality of the Gazan genocide & openly ignoring/mocking Palestinians in the run-up to the 2024 election

Renewing ACA subsidies every few years as is necessary to keep marketplace prices affordable & the program functional is absolutely a "band-aid" that keeps those millions covered until *everyone* can be covered. He's devoted to universal healthcare, he's going to vote to keep people insured til then

010

Such a bill will almost certainly be introduced by a Democratic majority House, & I'm more than confident that Abdul will vote to extend & expand subsidies as a band-aid until single-payer legislation is drafted & put forward. This man is a medical doctor, he's going to take the path of least harm

While interesting, it's important now more than ever that we extricate the concepts of "IQ" and "intelligence," as "IQ tests" are a very specific measure of a very narrow type of intelligence Metrics like IQ are widely misunderstood by the public & have historical uses in eugenics/scientific racism

Insults from genocide apologists and fascist enablers are to be worn like a badge of honor

010

Your comments say a lot more about yourself than anyone or anything else. You know nothing about me and jump to wild conclusions based on nothing. Do you talk to people in-person this way? Look inward, the problem might be closer to home than you thought

They RUN THE CAMPAIGN.

010

Sure, cast aspersions haphazardly. I, like countless on the left, held my nose and cast my vote for Harris– but I don't blame those who didn't for doing what they said they would in response to being ignored and mocked by the party that is supposed to represent them.

110

The blame lies with the DNC for failing to meet crucial voters and their base where it needed to to secure their ballots, then. The blame lies with their innumerable campaign missteps and excuses for genocide, not with the voters that dare hold them to account

110

Never ceases to amaze me how quickly right-wingers who believe themselves on the left turn to misogyny when it suits them. I'm not sure why you're telling me this, I am well-aware of what is happening

110

You voted for Gazan genocide instead, congratulations

010

If the DSA has "only 3% in the House," what, exactly, are you worried about? Compromise with widely popular left-wing policymakers?

110

Candidates & parties need to meet their voters where they are, not the other way around. The uncommitted movement demanded substantive policy change on the Gazan genocide, & the DNC ignored & insulted their base at their own peril. If one can't draw the line at genocide, idk what to tell you.

Sounds like someone needs to read up on the history and purpose of USAID. Abolish doesn't mean "immediately dismantle," and suggesting that people whose primary goals are universal human rights and universal working class solidarity would do that, absent evidence, makes you sound ridiculous

110

The means by which it would be abolished would have been much different, and likely replaced by genuine humanitarian aid as opposed to the thinly-veiled soft power projection that USAID represented

"Progressive" is a nebulous, near-meaningless label that could mean any number of things Any aversion people have toward the concept of socialism is likely because of decades of capitalist propaganda and a fundamental misunderstanding of what it is... and maybe lead in the air and water

030

Any ideology can be described as an "-ism," including yours; the terms are simply a way to shorthand an ideology for ease of discussion.

010

I see no need for DMs. Dismissing "-isms" out of hand is not an argument, socialism is explicitly secular and has been applied to varying levels of success across the globe, and historical materialism is simply a framework for analysis of societal change as a function of material conditions

110

"Western governance" is a blanket term for the western European/North American capitalist and imperial projects that have dominated those regions for the past ~450 years, especially post-industrialized societies. I am openly critical of every aspect of those societies.

010

I am not a "Euro," nor do I advocate for wars of conquest or capitalist exploitation of other nations and states. You assume far too much
