I guess I would love to know how the "the economy is actually going great, people are just freaking out over nothing" crowd feel about this metric. How do they explain why people are buying less food of all things. I feel food is one of those things people buy when they're doing well. Or poorly.

I got curious and made an incriminating search and now I know that you can also use diapers as flame retardant material. Oooooh scary. Also for pranks. Definitely the sort of thing people go to the black market to acquire.

Unless someone wants to come on here and talk to me about some sort of dual use for unused diapers or baby formula, the fact is that even the black market for these products is actually just going to people who need them but can't afford them normally. Which is a moral indictment of society.

I do not care how much baby formula or diapers you see a person stealing, you should never ever ever report them for shoplifting. I mean, think about it, even in the worst case scenario what is happening with what they stole? They resold it. Okay. And who did they sell it to? And why?

The only crime I am hearing is an indictment against society and not the individual in question.
