I was just telling Stanley this! I had that reaction to Anson and also to Jason... same thing. I thought they were generically handsome actors until they were standing in front of me (separate occasions, obviously) and then I was just overwhelmed. Both so swoon-inducing.

They softened him up too much as the show progressed but he was a fascinating character who didn’t deserve the hate! I loved how alien he was at the beginning especially.

I rewatched it recently after listening to @trekmarrykpod.bsky.social’s episode about it and found myself enjoying the sheer madness of it I think they fumbled a lot last season. It is tough when there are only ten episodes a season.

But it’s okay to gripe about shows you watch. I do think a lot of the Academy gripes were from people who weren’t actually watching it.

I love Academy. And I agree. SNW is sometimes really fun but last season had too many lows and they get in their own way. I wish they’d give up on TOS refs and just do interesting stories with the characters they have. And ease up on the gimmicks. But the canon smashing can drive me a bit nuts.
