🧵 1/4 In my GenX youth I was passionate about politics because I viewed it as a competition in the marketplace of ideas. My activism was fueled by a patriotic idealism to forge "a more perfect union" and to paraphrase MLK, bend the arc of history toward justice. That idealistic fire still burns.

Worst people on Earth are in power in my USA, Russia, Israel, Iran, China, Saudi Arabia. There is also Hamas and so many other predatory scum. I stubbornly believe most of us are exhausted by ancient animosities. There is a better way to aspire to. We must all, think globally and act locally.
