It's kind of extraordinary to think we'll probably live to see the arrival of free, abundant electricity. One can only hope that someone's attempting to invent artificial replacements for natural minerals necessary for batteries. As such a revolution can NOT once again come at the expense of Africa.

Asia is having its own version of the 1970s oil crises, with four-day weeks, power cuts, and flight cancellations. Sales of electric cars, scooters, and (in China) even trucks are booming. You can shred any demand forecasts that don’t factor that in: www.bloomberg.com/opinion/arti...

WOW: The UAE’s decision to quit OPEC looks like one of the biggest crude producers joining the “peak oil demand” camp. Here’s why: 🧵

What is demand starts turning down, though? Suddenly the logic flips: you want to pump as much as you can in the near future, while demand for your product is still strong. If you wait too long, you might never get to sell at all.

Remember, Paris wasn’t “always this way.” Not that many years ago, Paris was choking in car traffic. And it wasn’t a safe place to ride a bike for transportation, so not many people tried. This is new. This is a result of deliberate vision, and bold leadership. Cities are a result of choices.
